PROJECT DANCE LONDON UPDATE

Project Dance London is coming in 2011....

London is one of the worlds most populated and busy cities, it is filled with artists and opportunity. It is filled with history and old buildings and it doesn’t look like any other major world city as a result. London's West End is one of the world's most sort after performance venues and many artists come to London seeking their fame and fortune. Many New York artists seem to be constantly interchanging between the West End and Broadway and like NYC, some of the highest caliber of performers in the world reside here in the UK.

London has so many dancers looking for opportunity and longing to connect with other artists with like-minded passions. In my opinion London needs Project Dance! We just had our first ever planning meeting with Clair from Springs Dance Company, Daniel from Rebirth and London City Entertainment and Rachel who is an independent professional dancer currently working in a West End based show. The event coordinator Lara Pilcher and her right hand man (and amazing husband) Andrew Pilcher are heading up the team here in London after moving 1 year ago from Australia! They also coordinate Project dance Sydney.

London is a FUN city to plan an event like this in. We were talking venues and with so many world famous and prestigious arts venues here, we have a lot of decisions to make. We are recruiting further team members with gifting's in the various areas that are required to put together a Project Dance event and meeting monthly in fun Covent Garden venues. If you know any London based artists that may want to be involved, be sure to let us know. We are planning to host the event here in London but extend the invitation to attend to particularly dancers across Europe and others across the globe of course!
